Shamba Shape Uganda Season 1
Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Uganda!
This week we’re in Kiroba Village in Kamuli District and we are here to meet farmer Naomi Namugombe
Naomi and her husband have a couple of enterprises on their 40 acres. They have 6 cows, 25 pigs, 3 goats and they grow bananas, maize, sweet potatoes. Oh! They also grow bracharia and some fodder trees
We want to find out how they do this and what challenges they have on their Shamba.
In this farm we learn about:
1) DAIRY:
• Mastitis Causes and treatment
• Artificial Insemination (Girolando breeds)
2) BANANAS: Cleaning suckers and how to deal with termites
3) OFSP: Introduction to Orange-fleshed sweetpotato and products
